A familiar background for Jim Ferry proponents, and detractors alike …

The independent student newspaper Purdue Exponent told us that while he wasn’t in West Lafayette (for this stint) very long, he was known as Head Coach Matt Painter’s “Offensive Coordinator.”

If you watched any Penn State Basketball game this year, you know that Jim Ferry was considered Pat Chambers’ “Offensive Coordinator” as each Big Ten Network announcer felt the need to remind us every game.

Hearing that may scare those that thought Ferry did an awful job, and ease the pain of those who wanted Ferry to get the head coaching gig.

Either way, the 2020-2021 Nittany Lions team did see large chunks of time where the offense went completely cold.

Most fans probably still aren’t sure if this year’s Nittany Lions were actually a “good shooting team” or not.  We can definitely use an influx of some new offensive strategies, and hopefully Shrewsberry has em’ locked and loaded in the Bryce Jordan Center this fall.
