Nits to the NIT?

A great 10 minutes completely erased by a horrific next 10 spells the end of PSU’s long shot NCAA Tournament hopes.

This game was Penn State Basketball’s whole season in a nutshell.

The Nittany Lions played awesome against a ranked team for a spell. Had a huge cold streak.  Made a furious comeback and fall one shot short (remember that shot clock violation that wans’t called on Wisconsin, sure made a difference).

Will the NIT come calling?

PSU is three games under .500 but this is a weird year.  One NIT bracketologist had PSU as the #2 overall seed before today’s game and will almost certainly have PSU in their final bracket Sunday.  Another has PSU on the three line (#11 seed overall).

So who knows.

This team certainly deserves the opportunity to play more games.

We’ll be following the NIT Selection Show very closely Sunday night. Either way, we’re mere moments away from a wild off-season where every player can transfer without sitting out for a year and, oh yeah we don’t have a coach yet and only one recruit signed.
