Penn State Football’s Micah Parsons is considered the premier linebacker in the 2021 NFL Draft class, and is a high-level plug-and-play starter at the next level, but former NFL scout Daniel Jeremiah believes there is one team that is an ideal fit.

"“He can do so many things,” Jeremiah said Tuesday. “Vic [Fangio] could be creative with him. Week-to-week, you could change his role … I think he could be a really good rusher, too, if you just wanted to cut him loose.”"

While Parsons blossomed into an All-American inside linebacker for the Nittany Lions by his second and final season in Happy Valley, he arrived in State College as a five-star defensive end, and the highest-rated prospect at the position out of Harrisburg High School in his recruiting cycle.

There is a chance that the Broncos bring Von Miller back, solidifying their edge-rush presence, but pairing Parsons alongside Josey Jewell could prove to be a formidable duo. As Jeremiah notes, Parsons’ versatility is going to make him an attractive option for most teams, and a dream for defensive coordinators, such as Fangio.

According to Sports Info Solutions, Parsons produced pressure on 27 percent of his snaps in 2019, his final collegiate season prior to opting out in 2020, and the outlet believes his play speed and range is among his best attributes.

Denver is scheduled to pick No. 9 overall, and adding Parsons to the middle of the Broncos’ defense is an intriguing pairing, especially in a division that now features four showdowns per season against both Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert.
