149 B1G Pre-Seeds
1. Sammy Sasso, Ohio State
2. Max Murin, Iowa
3. Griffin Parriott, Purdue
4. Yahya Thomas, Northwestern
5. Kanen Storr, Michigan
6. Michael Blockhus, Minnesota
7. Ridge Lovett, Nebraska
8. Mike VanBrill, Rutgers
9. Graham Rooks, Indiana
10. Peyton Omania, Michigan State
11. Beau Bartlett, Penn State
12. Drew Scharenbrock, Wisconsin
13. Christian Kanzler, Illinois
14. Michael North, Maryland

Outside of Sasso as the clear No. 1 seed, I can only assume the B1G randomly pulled names out of a hat to rank the remaining 13 wrestlers. Let’s take a look at the top 6 of this group and how they’ve faired against each other this season.

Sammy Sasso 9-0
No. 2 Max Murin – W fall 6:53
No. 5 Kanen Storr – W decision 8-1

Max Murin 4-1
No. 1 Sammy Sasso – L fall 6:53
No. 6 Michael Blockhus – W decision 5-1

Griffin Parriott 4-0
N/A

Yahya Thomas 6-2
No. 6 Michael Blockhus – L decision 2-3

Kanen Storr 4-2
No. 1 Sammy Sasso – L decision 1-8

Michael Blockhus 5-4
No. 2 Max Murin – L decision 1-5
No. 4 Yahya Thomas – W decision 3-2

After Sasso it’s a giant mess of good wrestlers from 2-6. Blockhus’ last match was the 3-2 decision over Thomas so nothing screams “This makes sense!” like having Thomas slotted two spots higher than him.

The grapplers who gave Sasso the toughest matches this year are Peyton Omania of Michigan State and Penn State’s Beau Bartlett. No. 10 Omania dropped a 6-7 decision and No. 11 *cough – horse crap – cough* Beau Bartlett lost 3-5.

Based on the B1G pre-seeds in this bracket, I’m going to say Sasso wins the title at 149. But if things get shuffled around I could easily change my prediction.
