2. Iowa Hawkeyes

The Hawkeyes have always been a run first team under head coach Kirk Ferentz and the pair of backs they have right now might be as good as he’s ever had at Iowa.

Sophomore running back Tyler Goodson put up huge numbers in eight games rushing for 762 yards and seven touchdowns while he was also one of the Hawkeyes best receivers. Goodson caught 15 passes for 152 yards. Goodson is shifty and elusive in the open field but can also run between the tackles.

His backfield mate Mekhi Sargent, who was the go-to guy in 2019 posted 432 rushing yards and seven touchdowns last fall. Sargent is more of a down-hill north and south runner and a perfect compliment to Goodson.
