7. A Full Offseason

Penn State Football trying to install a new offense under offensive coordinator Kirk Ciarrocca while players and staff were quarantined at home was less than ideal.

The Nittany Lions also had new coaches in place along the offensive line, wide receivers and defensive line. It effected recruiting as well as the product we saw on the field, and it is probably not a coincidence the team got better the more games they played.

A full spring and fall camp this offseason to properly install an offense under new offensive offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich should improve the play of the offense early on and defend from the potential of another horrific start to the season.

Those freshman who big first seasons in the blue and white will not get a more routine offseason in the wight room and on the field and should lead to continued improvement from young players such as Parker Washington, Keyvone Lee and Theo Johnson.
