Safety

Anthony Poindexter has plenty of top-notch targets to pursue in his cycle as a coach at Penn State.

The big name is Keon Sabb, a 5-star out of New Jersey.

There are a bunch of notable 4-star targets out there as well. Christian Driver out of Texas, is the son of Donald Driver, who Franklin has a relationship with from his days with the Packers.

Sherrod Covil is out of Poindexter’s home state of Virginia, so that should give the Nittany Lions some advantage. Christian Rapley and Myles Rowser out of Michigan seemed like possible targets, but with Tim Banks gone, Penn State’s Michigan recruiting will take a step back.

3-star Mumu Bin-Wahad out of Georgia was recently offered and has shown some interest in Penn State on social media.

Some of Penn State’s safety recruiting will actually rely on their receiver recruiting. If 2021 signee Lonnie White Jr. enrolls this Summer instead of going to the MLB draft and they are able to hold onto Kaden Saunders and possibly add another receiver in the 2022 class, Mehki Flowers could end up at safety.

If that happens, there’s less pressure on Poindexter, but after misses in recent years, Penn State needs a quality safety haul.
