Defensive Tackle

Unlike defensive end, there’s not a huge need for defensive tackles for Penn State.

The team has quality depth on the roster, but after not landing one in 2021, they will most likely need two in 2022.

Kwan Williams has been a name frequently brought up because he is teammates with Dennis-Sutton. Penn State would be happy to land that duo.

Alex VanSumeren, a 4-star from Michigan, just de-committed from Michigan. His brother was on Michigan’s roster, but transferred to Michigan State. Because of this, Michigan State is seen as the leader, but Penn State is in the mix.

Anthony Smith, a 3-star out of Shippensburg, is listed as defensive end, but at 6 foot 5, 260 pounds, he could be a candidate to move to tackle at the next level.

Defensive tackle is a position that Penn State may have to be patient with a see if any new targets emerge in the Spring or Fall, as talent in the recruiting region is sparse for the position.
