Last Week: 9
Rank: Unranked
Record: 2-6
Top 20 Wins: 1
Ranked Wrestlers: 5

125 No. 13 Michael DeAugustino
133 No. 12 Chris Cannon
149 No. 17 Yahya Thomas
157 No. 1 Ryan Deakin
197 No. 14 Lucas Davison

In my previous B1G Power Rankings, I predicted the Wildcats would either win 19-16 or lose 3-38 in a road tilt versus No. 9 Minnesota this past Sunday (2/21). The latter turned out to be true, as the Gophers easily handled Northwestern 29-10.

No. 1 Ryan Deakin was once again impressive, as he earned a major decision over Minnesota’s No. 6 Brayton Lee. Well, that’s where the fun stopped as the only other ranked Wildcat grappler to win was No. 12 Chris Cannon at 133. Both No. 13 Michael DeAugustino and No. 17 Yahya Thomas fell via decisions and No. 14 Lucas Davison was not active for the meet.

So, what does this mean for Northwestern when we put it all together?

Nothing.

I still see them as the 9th best team in the B1G.

Moving on.
