174 No. 13 Donnell Washington

The Hoosiers hit the road and took the two hours bus ride up the I-65 to tackle heated-rival Purdue on Monday evening (2/22). They faired slightly better than Maryland, as Purdue *only* beat them 38-3. Indiana’s lone bright spot coming from the No. 13 ranked Donnell Washington at 174 as he took a decision over Purdue’s Emil Soehnlen.

Graham Rooks at 149 was previously ranked at No. 19, however, it was shorted lived as Purdue’s No. 15 Griffin Parriott got the fall in their match. Thus dropping Rooks from the top 20.

Redshirt Freshman Donnell Washington has been impressive this year compiling a record of 6-2 against some stiff competition. By the way, this also includes a win over last week’s B1G Wrestler of the Week and USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week, Carter Starocci back on January 30th.

He’s going to make some noise for IU in the B1G’s.
