When are B1G Wrestling Championships? How to watch Penn State Wrestling
By Chris Snyder
The B1G Wrestling Championships once again return to Happy Valley as Penn State Wrestling serves as host for the tournament set to begin on Saturday, March 6th. Start time for Session I and brackets are still TBD.
The last time the Nittany Lions hosted the B1G Wrestling Championship was back in March of 2009 BCS*.
That season, Iowa claimed it’s second straight B1G title, with a dominating performance piling up a total of 141.0 team points. Illinois came in second with 113.5 points, and Michigan was the second loser in posting 92.5 points.
*-Before Cael Sanderson
Penn State Wrestling finished in seventh place, and no wrestlers took home any individual hardware as they went 0-2 in finals matchups. Let that last sentence sink in for a minute. Penn State seventh. ZERO champions.
My how things have certainly changed.
Here is some general information regarding the upcoming 2021 B1G Wrestling Championships
When: Saturday and Sunday, March 6-7
Where: University Park, PA
TV channel: Big Ten Network
How to watch
Preferably, you should be watching on a comfy couch with plenty of drinks, snacks, ribs, chicken wings, and pizza. Because unfortunately, none of us will be able to attend the B1G Championships in person at the Bryce Jordan Center.
So, along with the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team wrestling trials which were scheduled for April 4-5, 2020 at University Park, the 2021 B1G Championship are yet another event which will not be accessible for the general public.
It’s understandable, but it’s still a huge bummer.
On a brighter note, for the first time in it’s illustrious broadcast history, the Big Ten Network is going to televise the entire B1G Championship weekend.
