The 2021 NFL Draft is rapidly approaching, and Penn State Football has scheduled its annual pro day to showcase Micah Parsons and the rest of the draft-eligible Nittany Lions off to NFL general managers, executives, coaches and scouts.
Penn State Football’s pro day is officially set for March 25, 2021 at Holuba Hall.
This year, the pro day will look different than in past years, due to the lingering impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. While each player will still get the chance to run the 40-yard dash, short-shuttle, and other position-specific drills, the audience for the event — which is closed to the general public — will be smaller than usual.
Unlike in years past where it wasn’t uncommon to see position coaches, scouts and at times even head coaches and general managers on campus, this year there will only be two representatives from each team allowed into the pro day workout.
However, given that Parsons is projected to be as high as a top-10 pick, expect all 32 NFL teams to be in attendance.
“He can be a game-changer,” a long-time NFL personnel executive recently told VictoryBellRings, of Parsons. “Devin White, who I loved coming out of LSU, Micah is a much better prospect than him. Devin was very athletic, very fast, you see it on the NFL level.”
Meanwhile, with edge rusher Jayson Oweh, and tight end Pat Freiermuth projected to be chosen in Rounds 1-2 along with defensive end Shaka Toney and offensive lineman Michael Menet also projected to be chosen, there will be plenty of interest from the league.
