The New York Jets have needs all across the roster, but on defense, none might be more glaring than at edge-rusher.

Last season, the Jets produced just 31 sacks and generated pressure on just 21.7% of defensive snaps.

Toney’s consistent dominance would be a welcomed addition to the Jets’ defense, that will aim to turn up the pressure on opposing quarterbacks under new head coach Robert Saleh. Throw in Toney’s leadership ability as a captain of the Nittany Lions’ defense and he has the potential to be a culture-driver on a young Jets defense.

It wouldn’t be difficult to envision Toney lining up opposite Quinnen Williams, even if it will likely cost much less than a first-round pick to snag him.
