Edge – Jayson Oweh

Oweh is an edge rusher who is surging up draft boards across the NFL.

Multiple executives and scouts have overlooked Oweh’s lack of production in 2020, just 38 total tackles with zero sacks, and instead see a prospect with tantalizing upside thanks to his immense athleticism and high motor.

Oweh, 6-foot-5 and 252 pounds, has the chance to contribute as a pass-rushing specialist at outside linebacker, or if he can add some bulk without losing his explosiveness, put his hand in the dirt and play defensive end.

In three seasons, Oweh produced 63 total tackles with seven sacks and two forced fumbles, despite not becoming a full-time starter until 2020.

Pro Football Focus lists Oweh as the outlet’s No. 2 ranked edge rusher in this year’s class, giving him an 80.3 pass-rush grade, 18.4 pass-rush win rate — in the 80th percentile among this year’s edge defenders, and a 12.6 run-stop rate.

With several teams picking in the top-20 aiming to add a complement to a veteran already on the roster, Oweh has plug-and-play starter potential for nearly every team in the league.
