Outside of a blowout loss at the hands of Minnesota (4-32) on January 31st, the Boilermakers have kept it close in all of their matches against some top opponents. They lost a nail-biter versus Illinois (17-19) in Champaign on January 22, then turned around and lost another close match to Wisconsin (14-22) two days later.

Given the ridiculous lineup Iowa trots out, a home loss against them (18-31) in West Lafayette on February 7th is considered a partial win in my book.

Next up for Purdue, as I mentioned earlier, is a battle for the state of Indiana versus Indiana in West Lafayette, Indiana this Monday (2/22). That’s three “Indiana’s” in one sentence for those of you playing the “Terrible Sports Writer” game at home.
