The Gophers drew a difficult dual meet to start the season when they traveled to Lincoln to take on Nebraska. The result was a tight match with Nebraska ultimately coming out on top (14-22).

Minnesota proceeded to go 6-1 after the battle in Lincoln, gaining three top-20 wins along with way against Purdue, Rutgers, and Illinois. The lone loss was a heartbreaker at home against Iowa (4-35) on January 22nd. But hey, Minnesota does have the best collegiate giant wrestler-guy in Gable Steveson so maybe they can make some noise in the B1G’s or bring home an NCAA individual championship.

Next up for the Gophers is a home match versus Northwestern this Sunday (2/21).
