As B1G Championships approach, this is the perfect time to take stock of the Big Ten power rankings and how Penn State Wrestling stacks up

With the regular season coming to a close, and the B1G Championships only three weeks away, we wanted to put together the 100% official* B1G Wrestling Power Rankings, which come at a great time for Penn State Wrestling.

The Nittany Lions are coming off a monumental victory Sunday over Michigan, head coach Cael Sanderson’s 200th career win in Happy Valley. Is it enough to propel Penn State Wrestling to the top of our conference power rankings?

All rankings listed are as of the latest InterMat rankings.

Let’s get on with it!

When Maryland joined the B1G in July of 2014, it didn’t exactly have its sights set on making any noise in wrestling.

The last time the Terrapins won a B1G dual meet was way back on January 10, 2016 where they took down Sparty 26-10. Fun fact: this is Maryland’s only B1G dual win.

Next up for Maryland is a home meet against Rutgers this Friday (2/19) and then a trip to University Park on Monday (2/22). I’ll put the over/under on Maryland team points at 0.5 for the Penn State dual. This is why I have them ranked where they are.
