Big Ten Games that matter most to Nittany Lions

Other B1G games are also very important.

These affect Penn State both with regards to the NCAA Tournament bubble and in the conference standings.

Currently, Penn State sits in 12th at 4-8.  A top ten finish has to be the goal.  Let’s look at who fans need to root against:

13th Place — Maryland (4-9):

Hosts Minnesota at 7:00 pm on Sunday.  This is a tough one.  The Nittany Lions have the tiebreak over Maryland, so I think we want them to win and bring Minnesota back closer to PSU.

11th Place — Michigan State (4-7):

Hosts No.15 Iowa at 2:30 pm Saturday (on FOX).  GO HAWKEYES!

10th Place — Minnesota (6-7):

See above, GO TERRAPINS!

9th Place — Indiana (6-6):

@ No.4 OSU at 12:00 pm Saturday (on ESPN). GO BUCKEYES!

8th Place — #25 Rutgers (7-7):

Hosting Northwestern at 5:00 pm Saturday. GO WILDCATS!

Catching Rutgers or Indiana seems unlikely but we KNOW Indiana isn’t that good.

Penn State should have won that game.  And the Lions have the tiebreak over Rutgers, so never say never.  Let’s catch em by rooting on Maryland, Iowa, Ohio State and Northwestern.
