Former Penn State Football quarterback Will Levis announced on twitter earlier today that he has found a new home in the SEC with the Kentucky Wildcats.
Former Penn State Football Quarterback Will Levis announced via twitter Friday afternoon he will be transferring to the University of Kentucky to play for head coach Mark Stoops.
This move makes sense in light of former Kentucky quarterback Terry Wilson announcing earlier this month that he will enter the transfer portal after starting for the Wildcats the last season.
Levis will enter the quarterback room presumably battling redshirt sophomore quarterback Joey Gatewood, after entering the transfer portal last month. Gatewood also transferred to Kentucky after losing the quarterback battle at Auburn in 2019 to freshman Bo Nix.

The offense should be a very good fit for the former Nittany Lions signal caller, as Kentucky likes to run the ball and use the quarterback run as much as possible. Wilson, the former starter was a dual threat player who was limited in what he can do with his arm. He ran the ball 104 times last season to only 200 passing attempts and ended up rushing for 422 yards and five touchdowns.
Gatewood the quarterback he will most likely be in competition with for the starting job is also a run first quarterback. In his lone start last season against Georgia, he ran the ball 16 times and only threw it 15 in a 14-3 loss to the Bulldogs.
He lost out on the job at Auburn to Nix because then head coach Gus Malzahn was looking for a quarterback who could throw it in his system, but was occasionally used on short yardage and goal line attempts, similar to how Penn State Football used Levis this past season.
Kentucky finished 2020 with a 5-6 record after defeating NC State in the Gator Bowl to end the season. Looking ahead to next fall, the Wildcats will have some tough sledding ahead of them as they travel to Georgia and will play host to Florida and LSU.
