New ways to lose …

Good teams find ways to win these games … That’s what Ohio State is.

They Buckeyes are No. 13 in the nation for a reason.

Penn State Basketball led most of the second half, covered the spread, but a late cold stretch and some experienced Buckeye play late was the difference, including incredible free throw shooting from the experience Ohio State team.

I firmly believe if Sessoms was able to play, the result would have been different. Around the 35-minute mark, the Nittany Lions’ legs just got tired.  Shots came up short, defensive rotations weren’t quite as crisp, and that’s how you lose late.

This one hurt.

Penn State would have been in the tournament bracket tomorrow with a win. Maybe PSU hangs on for the “Next Four Out”, maybe not.  This wasn’t really ever expected to be a win, but, it hurts when you get this close and can’t close it out.

I know, the plan was to get one of these OSU/Wisconsin over the next two games, and that’s still very possible.

But, much like Seton Hall, at Michigan and at Indiana, these are the games you gotta win if you wanna dance.  Yes, we’re the best sub .500 team in the nation.  But a win tonight would have moved us up to 10th in the conference.  Instead we’re stuck in 13th.

See ya Saturday at 3:00 pm. Beat the Badgers and #keepclimbing.
