High schools aren’t the only place where Penn State finds their future players. Junior colleges are a great place to pick up experienced players to fill holes on your roster.

Penn State Football first linked up with Lackawanna in 2015 when they picked up 4-star offensive tackle Paris Palmer. They returned in 2016, grabbing defensive tackle Brenon Thift.

Palmer started frequently for the Nittany Lions in his two years, while Thift did not see much action.

After a two year absence from the JUCO, Penn State found two more future Nittany Lions in 4-star offensive lineman Anthony Whigan and 4-star safety Jaquan Brisker.

Whigan has seen action in a backup role, while Brisker will return to Penn State in 2021 as one of their best defensive players.

Two more Lackawanna players are on Penn State’s roster with 3-star safety Ji’Ayir Brown and 3-star receiver Norval Black joining the team in 2020.

Penn State suffered their first big miss with Lackawanna in 2021 when 4-star corner De’Jahn Warren signed with Jackson State.

Lackawanna will also have coveted players, and Penn State will always be in the thick of it for them.
