John Harrar rings the bell … That is actually the Victory Bell

John Harrar takes his heat.

Harrar doesn’t have the offensive gifts that many centers in the Big Ten do. Harrar’s not the fastest, tallest or strongest (ok, he may actually be the strongest but still).

But, Harrar played the best defense we’ve seen this year without fouling, contesting shots, and cleaning up the rebounds. He finished with eight points on 4-5 shooting, 11 rebounds, and only one foul.

Harrar also saved a huge possession diving for a loose ball  with Penn State up by four with 90 seconds left, after Myreon Jones got blocked at the rim. He didn’t lead the Lions in scoring, and arguments could easily be made for Lundy or Jones or Brockington as tonight’s Victory Bell ringers (seriously, this was a TEAM effort), but let’s raise a glass for the HARDEST working center in the conference; John Harrar.
