No. 4 Lamont Wade’s 100 yard kick return touchdown vs Illinois

Special teams were up and down in 2020 for Penn State Football, however, late in the season they played a big role in the four game winning streak to end the season.

In the regular season finale, after Illinois tied the score at seven a piece, Lamont Wade, who was only inserted as a kick returner for the first time the week before, took one 100 yards back to the house, giving Penn State football a 14-7 lead.

The season lacked a lot of wow moments, especially early on, but this was an explosive play for Wade who struggled at times this season, and was nice to see him make a big play. It was a part of a wild first quarter at Beaver Stadium that saw 42 points scored combined by the two teams.

The Nittany Lions would go on to win rather convincingly 56-21, but at the time this was a huge play and a fun one for the fans watching at home.
