Penn State football’s leading receiver Jahan Dotson announced on twitter moments ago that he will be returning for his senior season in 2021.

After having one of the best seasons of any wide receiver in all of college football, Penn State Football junior Jahan Dotson announced via his twitter that he will be returning for his senior year in 2021.

Dotson led all Big Ten wideouts in receiving yards with 884, finished tied for first with eight touchdowns and third with 52 receptions. The junior also made his presence felt on special teams when he ran back a punt 81 yards for a touchdown in week 8 against the Spartans.

Coming into the season Dotson was seen as ‘the guy’ but mostly because the wide receivers room was full of youth and unproven players, but he let his play do the talking this year, proving he was in fact the go to target in the passing game for the Nittany Lions. Because of his breakout year, many expected Dotson to test the waters and potentially make the leap into the NFL draft, foregoing his senior year.

In the words of famous coach and broadcaster, Lee Corso, “not so fast my friends”.

Dotson is back, and will anchor a wide receiving corps that featured one of the best freshman in the Big Ten, Parker Washington. Washington caught 36 passes for 489 yards and six touchdowns this past season, and had a few big games late in the season playing a crucial role the teams four game winning streak.

Dotson and Washington will form what should be one of, if not the best, wide receiver tandem in the Big Ten and the country. With quarterback Sean Clifford looking more comfortable in offensive coordinator Kirk Ciarrocca’s system down the stretch, this offense could be clicking on all cylinders form the get go in 2021.

Penn State football will need it as the Nittany Lion’s schedule features games at Wisconsin, vs Auburn and at Iowa within the first five games.
