Former Penn State Football kicker Robbie Gould signed a two-year fully guaranteed contract extension with the San Francisco 49ers Wednesday

Former Penn State Football Robbie Gould has been a model of consistency throughout his NFL career, and Wednesday the San Francisco 49ers signed the veteran to a long-term contract placing him among the highest paid players at his position.

Gould and the 49ers agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension worth a fully guaranteed $7.5 million Wednesday, keeping the 38-year-old in the Bay Area through 2022.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter was first to report Gould’s new deal.

Gould made the Pro Bowl as a member of the Chicago Bears in 2006 when he was also named a First-Team All-Pro that season.

Through this season’s first 13 games, in his fourth season in San Francisco, Gould has made 17-of-19 field goals and 31-of-32 extra point attempts, with his only miss being a blocked try. He is 2-of-4 on field goal tries from beyond 50 yards this season with a long of 52.

Earlier this season, Gould made a game-winning field goal as time expired to lift the 49ers to a 23-20 win over the Los Angeles Rams.

For his career, Gould has been one of the more productive kickers of his era, making 86.6 percent of his career attempts and scoring 1,731 points. Gould had previously been named one of the Chicago Bears’ 100 greatest players of all-time.

Originally an undrafted free agent out of Penn State back in 2005, Gould has appeared in a pair of Super Bowls, but has yet to win a ring.
