NFL Mock Draft 2021: Penn State Football’s Micah Parsons to Miami Dolphins?
In latest NFL Mock Draft 2021 projection, Penn State Football’s Micah Parsons goes off the board No. 8 overall to the Miami Dolphins
Penn State Football’s former All-American linebacker Micah Parsons is arguably the premier defensive prospects in the 2021 NFL Draft, and could be on the cusp of joining one of the NFL’s ascending defenses in latest NFL Mock Draft 2021 projection.
While Parsons has lobbied the Dallas Cowboys to choose him, he might be headed to another team selecting in the top-10 picks and joining former Penn State Football tight end Mike Gesicki in South Florida.
In CBS Sports’ latest mock draft projection, Parsons come off the board to the Miami Dolphins at No. 8 overall:
"Brian Flores has squeezed all the juice from the lemon this season but it is natural to wonder what he might be able to accomplish with more blue-chip talent on that side of the ball. Micah Parsons is not a flawless prospect but he offers a unique skillset."
In this projection, Parsons is the second defensive player chosen, after the Cowboys tabbed Virginia Tech cornerback Caleb Farley one pick earlier.
Parsons, of course, opted out of the 2020 College Football season amid COVID-19 concerns and to prepare for the 2021 NFL Draft.
In two seasons in Happy Valley, Parsons produced 191 total tackles, 6.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, and five pass breakups.
Parsons would undoubtedly give the Dolphins’ defense, that currently ranks 18th in total defense, allowing 362.3 yards per game, and 18th in rushing defense, perhaps to the point of it being a worthy complement to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and the offense that has powered Miami to an 8-5 start.
