Penn State Basketball earned two votes in the Coaches Poll this week coming off an impressive week winning on the road vs #16 Virginia Tech and narrowly falling to Michigan in Ann Arbor.

We are…number 42!  Perhaps more interesting, this puts Penn State Basketball ahead of teams like Purdue and Minnesota, which no one was picking before the year.  Also not receiving votes, Northwestern and Nebraska, but that’s not as surprising.

For Penn State Basketball to make a strong NIT case, their final position in the B1G standings will be critically important.

If the Nittany Lions can stay in the middle of the Purdue-Minnesota-Indiana (9 votes)-Maryland (6 votes) pack and finish in that 10th place spot, you’d feel confident about post-season play for the young Lions team.  Of course, that’s assuming a normal post-season with a full 32 team NIT.

With conference play starting in earnest, it’s time for our weekly check-in on the conference as a whole.

Let’s see where the Nittany Lions land in our first 2020-2021 Power Rankings.
