Former Penn State Football tight end Mike Gesicki had one of the most dominant games of his career Sunday for the Miami Dolphins against the Kansas City Chiefs

It seems of late, with apologies to Hall of Famer Cris Carter, the only thing former Penn State Football tight end Mike Gesicki does is catch touchdowns for the Miami Dolphins.

Gesicki was once again a focal point of the Miami Dolphins’ passing game on Sunday afternoon against the Kansas City Chiefs, catching five passes for 65 yards and a season-high two touchdowns while averaging 13 yards per reception.

While Gesicki made an outrageous one-handed catch last Sunday afternoon, his touchdown grab between three Kansas City Chiefs defensive backs on Sunday afternoon might have been even more impressive.

It would be difficult for Dolphins rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to throw a more pinpoint-accurate pass to Gesicki, but his effort on the touchdown catch might be the most impressive play of his young NFL career.

"“Me and Mike’s relationship has been growing in practice,” Tagovailoa said, via the Miami Herald. “I had the opportunity to go in after the game and see Mike, talk to him. He’s really hurting, but I just told him my thoughts and prayers are with him, that the rest of the team is playing for him."

So far this season, Gesicki has hauled in 44 receptions for 602 yards and six touchdowns, while averaging 13.7 yards per reception.

Pro Football Focus lists Gesicki as the NFL’s No. 7 ranked tight end with a 78.4 overall mark, but the former Nittany Lion is the outlet’s fifth-highest graded pass-catching tight end with an 80 receiving mark.

However, Gesicki’s career-day was cut short when he was knocked from the game with a shoulder injury, suffered with 9:58 remaining in a 33-27 loss to the Chiefs.
