Penn State Football’s 2022 quarterback commit, Beau Pribula, is now a composite 4-star recruit.

The Central York product, who committed to Penn State Football’s promising 2022 class, received his fourth star after a rankings bump from Rivals this week.

Pribula is coming off a fantastic junior season in which he threw for 2,156 yards, completed 67.5% of his passes with a touchdown to interception ratio of 34-7. He added 519 rushing yards with 14 touchdowns on the ground. He led his team to the state championship, where Central York fell to St. Joe’s Prep.

The reason that Pribula earning his fourth star is a big deal, is that all of Penn State’s 2022 commits are now composite 4-star recruits. The seven member class ranks third nationally, behind Ohio State and LSU.

The promising 2022 class will look to unseat the 2019  class as the class with the most blue chip recruits in the James Franklin era. The 2019 class had 18 four and five star recruits. The 2022 class is currently 7/7, so they’ll need 12 more to go for the record.

This class will be vital as Penn State tries to keep up with Ohio State, who is recruiting at an historic rate under coach Ryan Day. The solid play of Indiana and Maryland this season also makes them threats on the recruiting trail, something Penn State will have to overcome.

Pribula joins Anthony Ivey, Drew Shelton and Ken Talley as 4-star commits from the state of Pennsylvania. It’s refreshing to see for Penn State fans, as the program has had some struggles with in-state recruiting over the past couple of cycles.

The Nittany Lions are targeting multiple other blue chip recruits in the state, including Enai White, Mehki Flowers, Keenan Nelson Jr., Nicholas Singleton, Anthony Johnson and Abdul Carter.

Pribula’s significant ranking increase should make Penn State fans feel good about him possibly being the quarterback of the future, as he’s gone from unranked to a 4-star in less than a year.
