Penn State Football: Ranking ex-Nittany Lions’ chances of making 2021 NFL Pro Bowl
4. Mike Gesicki – TE, Miami Dolphins
2020 stats: 28 receptions for 414 yards and two touchdowns
The Miami Dolphins are among the biggest surprises, and most exciting young teams in the NFL this season, with tight end Mike Gesicki playing a vital role in the Dolphins’ offensive resurgence.
Gesicki is averaging a career-high 14.8 yards per reception, and is building some chemistry with rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
Through the first 12 weeks of the season, Gesicki ranks ninth in receiving yards among tight ends. If Gesicki’s play improves down the stretch and the Dolphins find some stability at quarterback, he could climb up the rankings among tight ends and garner more serious consideration for the Pro Bowl.
Likewise, if Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs makes the Super Bowl, that opens up at least one more spot for Gesicki to make the Pro Bowl as a reserve.
