Penn State Football at Nebraska: 3 Biggest Surprises

James Franklin is now coaching for his job

The Penn State Nittany Lions were the No. 7 ranked team in the country coming into the 2020 season, and many felt they would make a serious run to the College Football Playoff. To do so, they would have to navigate a tough Big Ten schedule, but based on how must of the teams in the conference have fared this season, the whole conference is down.

Head coach James Franklin has done some remarkable things since taking over the program back in 2014, posting back-to-back seven-win seasons, and rescuing the program from what looked like an NCAA Death Penalty. There have been some highs, including three ten-win seasons, and three bowl game victories, but there has also been plenty of lows.
