Penn State Football RB Journey Brown was forced to retire from football Wednesday due to a heart condition
Penn State Football running back Journey Brown’s football career was cut woefully short when he was forced to retire Wednesday night due to a heart condition.
"“We’ve been working through this and dealing with this as a team,” Penn State head coach James Franklin said following Wednesday’s practice. “Journey’s one of the most popular and respected players on our team. The entire organization has rallied behind Journey and his family. We need Nittany Nation to do the same.”"
Brown’s condition was discovered during screening for COVID-19, but the program says that the condition isn’t tied to any COVID-19 diagnosis.
As news of Brown’s retirement broke out of Happy Valley, Brown’s current and former teammates offered their support on social media Wednesday evening:
