Penn State Football’s Shaka Toney Accepts Senior Bowl Invite

Penn State football defensive end Shaka Toney has accepted an invite to the 2021 Reese’s Senior Bowl.

Penn State Football defensive end, and Philadelphia native, Shaka Toney received a well earned honor Tuesday accepting an invite to the 2021 Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.

This bodes well for the redshirt senior and his prospects of hearing his name called in April’s NFL draft. T

he senior bowl is the premiere event for elite talents all around the country to showcase there talents for all 32 NFL teams. In previous seasons, Penn State alums Trace McSorley, Amani Oruwariye, Robert Windsor and Cam Brown have also participated in this event.

Toney has recorded two sacks, two tackles for loss and and 8 solo tackles this season. In Penn State’s first game against Indiana, Toney recorded sacks on back to back plays that forced a Hoosiers turnover on downs and should have clinched a victory for the Nittany Lions.

Toney was named a captain before the start of the season and also recently landed himself on the Nagurski award watch list, the trophy awarded to the best defensive players in college football.

Penn State football fans can catch Shaka Toney in the senior bowl January 30th, on the NFL Network.
