Jim Harbaugh seems to have exhausted what little goodwill in Ann Arbor he might have entered this season with, after last weekend’s disastrous upset loss to Michigan State at the Big House.

This series has gone to the home team in recent years, with the last victory by a road team being the Wolverines’ 28-16 win at Beaver Stadium back in 2015. It’s also been a rivalry packed with blowouts, with the average margin of victory the past four years being 25 points over the past four years.

It is never easy to win in the Big Ten, but the atmosphere of the Big House and every other road stadium has been pretty much neutralized by virtually empty seats due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Both of these programs’ seasons are in various forms of disarray, and a lot can change over the next three weeks, but the winner of this game might come down to which team has more to play for at that point.
