2. vs. Iowa Hawkeyes

It has been a decade since the Hawkeyes knocked off the Nittany Lions, but Kirk Ferentz’s team always seems to play Penn State tough.

Who can forget Trace McSorley’s comeback drive that culminated with a touchdown pass to Juwan Johnson as time expired in Iowa City in 2017 to escape with a 21-19 win, or last season’s down to the wire 17-12 Penn State victory? This is always a game the Hawkeyes seem to circle on the schedule, whenever they’re set to meet.

It’s been a rough start for Iowa this season, with losses to Purdue and Northwestern to open, but until Penn State’s offense proves capable of creating explosive plays, physical games such as the one this promises to be could prove more of a struggle than it should.
