Michigan State +21.5 vs Michigan

Did Michigan find a quarterback?

Junior quarterback Joe Milton impressed in his Wolverines debut last Saturday night, connecting on 15 of 22 passes for 225 yards and a TD. The former 4-star recruit looked to be in total control of the offense as Michigan torched the Gophers 49-24. The Wolverines were also successful in the ground game, rushing for 256 yards. One the other side, as I noted above, Michigan State could not stop giving the ball to Rutgers, but can that keep up? The Spartans brought there usual stingy run defense into 2020, allowing only 2.6 yards per carry to the Scarlet Knights. Limiting the ground game and forcing Milton t prove once again he is capable of winning games with his arm will be key for the Spartans. Michigan State usually gets up for games like this, and is 2-3 vs Michigan in the Jim Harbaugh era. This spread feels like an overreaction to how good Michigan looked week 1, and just how bad Michigan State was. I think both squads fade back to the mean, and Michigan wins a tough defensive battle, but does not cover.

The Pick: Michigan State +21.5
