Updated Penn State football 2020 schedule | Dates for each Big Ten showdown
In a reversal of a previous decision to cancel the 2020 season amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that has killed over 200,000 Americans and counting, the Big Ten announced earlier this month that there will be a fall football season after all, which means Penn State will be back on the field at Beaver Stadium in less than a month.
Head Coach James Franklin looks to lead the Penn State Nittany Lions to the program’s first College Football Playoff berth this season, with one of his most talented rosters since arriving in Happy Valley in 2014.
“We are excited for our guys to have the opportunity to get back to action safely on Oct. 24,” Franklin said in a statement on Sept. 16. “We are so appreciative of the work the Big Ten’s return to competition task force put in to give us a safe path to playing football this fall.”
The Big Ten announced that football will return on October 24th, with each team playing each of their division opponents and a pair of crossover games in an eight-game slate ending on Dec. 2, leading up to an additional game for all 14 teams during what the conference is calling “Big Ten Championship Week” on Dec. 19.
Kickoff times will likely be announced soon, but, below is Penn State’s full updated football schedule:
Week 1: Oct. 24 at Indiana Hoosiers
