Secondary

The secondary had a decent game, as they allowed more yards than expected through the air, but didn’t allow any touchdowns. As I mentioned before, Rutgers QB Johnny Langan completed 12 of his 24 passes for 164 yards. Those 164 yards were the second-most he’s ever had in a game.

Garrett Taylor led all members of the secondary with seven tackles, including a half tackle for loss. Jaquan Brisker had four tackles. D.J Brown, Lamont Wade, and Trent Gordon all had three tackles. Gordon also had two passes defended. Joey Porter Jr., Maquis Wilson, and Keaton Ellis all chipped in with two tackles as well.

The secondary struggled throughout the entire last third of the season but will have a chance to redeem themselves against what will likely be a good passing team in the bowl game.

Grade: B-
