Coaching

It’s pretty hard to get a team pumped up for a home game vs. Rutgers as 40.5-point favorites with nearly nothing on the line. It’s even harder to blow out an opponent you’re supposed to blowout when you’re missing a ton of players on both sides of the ball.

Yes, the game was a lot harder than it should have been, as Penn State only led 13-6 going into the fourth quarter, but none of that was on the coaching. The players just failed to explode until the middle of the fourth quarter when the game was finally blown open.

As I’ve stated in my intro, the coaching staff has done a phenomenal job overall to win ten games once again. It’s the first time that Penn State has won 10 games three times in four years since 1993-1996. This is a major accomplishment and shouldn’t be taken lightly.

James Franklin deserves a contract extension and raise, and anyone thinks otherwise is completely irrational. As a Penn State football fan, you should be thankful for the state of the program, because it’s the best it’s been in quite some time. That ultimately is on the head coach.
