SPECIAL TEAMS . B. . .

It was an uneventful, but a solid day for the Penn State special teams. Jake Pinegar made all his kicks, as he went two for two on field goals and extra points. In addition, Penn State only allowed 13 yards on two Minnesota kick returns and -1 yards on a punt return.

On kick returns, K.J Hamler had five returns for 98 yards. On punt returns, K.J Hamler fair caught every one, except one that was fumbled by him after the ball hit his helmet when he was pushed by his own teammate. Thankfully for Penn State, that was recovered by Ellis Brooks.

Penn State did have one penalty on a kickoff return this week as well, something that has been a constant on special teams this season. Special teams did have a few slip-ups overall, but luckily for Penn State, they weren’t extremely costly.
