Penn State Football: Grading the Nittany Lions vs. Minnesota

For the first time all season, only two of the Penn State running backs got carries in the game. Journey Brown went off, as he had 14 carries for 124 yards and two touchdowns. His first touchdown went for 45 yards.

Brown also had a reception for 17 yards. True freshman Devyn Ford had three carries for nine yards. Ricky Slade didn’t get a carry in this game, but he had a catch that went for no gain, and then a catch on a two-point conversion attempt that failed. Noah Cain dressed for the game, but didn’t see action due to injury.

The running backs certainly weren’t a problem for Penn State in this game. In fact, they were a strength.
