Penn State Football: Grading Nittany Lions vs. Michigan State
By Dylan Burd
It was a decent game for the running backs on Saturday despite not scoring any touchdowns for the second straight game. They combined for 103 yards on 28 carries, which is just below 3.7 yards per carry.
Noah Cain got his first start of the season but was sidelined for the entire second half with a speculated leg injury. Hopefully, the injury isn’t serious, but Cain will have the bye week to give him extra time to recover before the Minnesota game. He had six carries for 21 yards, and a catch for two yards.
Penn State’s leading rusher was Journey Brown, who had 45 yards on 12 carries. Devyn Ford had 25 yards on six carries, and Ricky Slade had four rushes for 12 yards.
Most importantly, the running backs held on to the football, which was extremely important in the horrendous weather conditions.
