5. John Reid, CB

During the first two weeks of the season, John Reid has been a force for the Nittany Lions’ secondary. As he snagged a pick in each of the first two games, Reid was quickly becoming one of Penn State’s best defensive players.

He hasn’t forced a turnover in two weeks now, but that could surely change against Purdue. With the Boilermakers trotting out a backup quarterback this week, we can expect the vicisious Penn State defensive line to get pressure on the passer.

While we expect the Lions to notch a handful of sacks, we also expect Purdue’s quarterback to toss a few ill-advised throws under pressure too, making it possible for the Penn State secondary to snag multiple picks this week. It’s been a little while since John Reid grabbed one, so our crystal ball believes he will reel one in on Saturday, snagging three on the year in five games.
