Penn State football is set to take on Purdue this week. Which five players are key to a Nittany Lion victory?

The last time Penn State football took the field, it wasn’t even close. Last Friday, Penn State hit the road for the first time this season after a refreshing week off. Although they were discussed as potential upset candidates against Maryland, Penn State used the doubt as motivation and came away with a dominant victory winning 59-0.

This week, the playing field isn’t much closer to becoming even. As the Nittany Lions return to Beaver Stadium, they will host an early matchup at noon, taking on Purdue for their second Big Ten matchup of the season.

Heading into the matchup, Purdue is 1-3. Recently, they took a loss to Minnesota at home. Although their matchup was close with the unbeaten Gophers, Purdue ended up ultimately losing. Not only did they lose on the scoreboard, though, they also lost a couple of key players as well.

With a handful of starters out, Penn State could be looking at another potential blowout at home this weekend. However, it’s any given Saturday in college football. Therefore, they need to ensure they come out firing early. Then perhaps Penn State’s starters can get most of the second-half off again. With that, which five players are key to a victory on Saturday?
