. COACHING . A. .

As I said in the intro, the coaching staffing truly did a phenomenal job of preparing the team for this game. It was the first road game for a very young team, and it ended up being the most dominant conference game the team has played in the James Franklin era.

Both the offense and defense were in-sync on nearly every play. The offense made a ton of big plays, and the defense forced turnovers. As a result, this is the most A’s given out of any grades article I’ve ever written.

However, the coaching staff has a tough job ahead of them. They must keep this young team just as motivated for this Saturday’s game vs. Purdue.

Purdue will be without their starting quarterback Elijah Sindelar and star wide receiver Rondale Moore for the game, but Penn State needs to keep their foot on the gas, as this is an important tune-up game for what will be the hardest three-game stretch of the season coming up: at Iowa, vs. Michigan, and at Michigan State.

The main takeaway from this performance is that this season may end up being a lot more exciting than many experts and fans initially thought. This team has that much potential.
