Penn State football will return from their bye week with their first road matchup of the season against the Maryland Terrapins.

It’s been a long two weeks, that’s for sure. After a successful bye week, Penn State football is set to make their return to the gridiron. Typically, they are looking at a Saturday afternoon matchup, but this week is going to be a little different for the Nittany Lions.

Friday night lights will be in full effect. On Thursday, the Nittany Lions departed from Happy Valley to head over to College Park, Maryland for what is their first away matchup of the season, which also happens to be their first Big Ten Conference battle as well.

Heading into this one, Penn State remains unbeaten through the first two weeks of the season. With wins over Idaho, Buffalo, and their in-state rival Pittsburgh, Penn State could be looking at their toughest matchup to date against Maryland as the home crowd could be a factor.

As for Maryland, they aren’t on the same level as Penn State right now. After a shocking loss on the road to Temple University, Maryland is looking to bounce back at home against Penn State.

While the Nittany Lions are on ‘upset alert,’ this week, they are still favored over the Terrapins as they are considered to be the more talented team. We’ll see what happens on the field though when the Lions and the Terps go at it for their first Big Ten battle. Plan on watching Penn State versus Maryland this week?
