Penn State football named finalists for 4-Star prospect Landon Tengwall
Penn State football is on the radar for 2021 four-star offensive lineman, Landon Tengwall.
It’s never too early to start building on the future. Penn State football remains focused on their current task at hand — which is the 2019 season. But the grind doesn’t stop on the recruiting front either. As of right now, Penn State is in good shape moving beyond this season.
For their 2020 recruiting class, they are well on their way to landing 30 prospects as head coach James Franklin vowed to do. Currently, they are at 25 commitments for the 2020 class, but they are looking to build for their 2021 class as well, which they have plenty of time to do.
Back in the summer, Penn State was in solid shape with the 2021 class, having two commits on board. Their first prospect was a four-star Maryland-based wideout, Dont’e Thornton. The second was a Jacksonville, Florida four-star tight end, Nick Elksnis.
Unfortunately, they couldn’t hold onto the wideout, Thornton, as he felt he pulled the trigger on his decision too early. Therefore, he decommitted and re-opened his recruitment. However, he still maintains a relationship with Penn State, but they won’t count on him being back.
Lately, the 2021 recruiting front has been quiet, as expected. But Penn State did land some good news late on Tuesday night. Four-star offensive lineman Landon Tengwall decided to announce his top three schools for his recruitment, and the Nittany Lions happened to make the cut!
Tengwall’s Top-Three Teams
Two Big Ten teams are in the mix for the Maryland-based lineman. The six-foot-six, 300-pound lineman, is considered to be one of the best prospects in the nation as of right now. According to 247 Sports’ composite, he ranks 31st nationally and is number one in his state.
For quite some time, recruiting analysts have had their eyes on Tengwall as he seems eager to make a decision sooner than later.
Although he doesn’t have a date set for his announcement, it seems as though his top three teams are right on par with expert predictions. As Michigan hasn’t been mentioned much regarding Tengwall, it seems like the real battle for his commitment is between Penn State and Notre Dame. We’ll see where he lands soon enough.
