2 Former Penn State football stars win a bet with former Pitt player
Former Penn State football stars Miles Sanders and Shareef Miller won a locker room bet with a former Pitt defensive back.
Back in college, Miles Sanders and Shareef Miller were stars with the Penn State football team. After their stints though, they were expected to separate as they entered the 2019 NFL Draft. Very rarely do players from the same college in the same draft class end up on the same team.
Well, Sanders and Miller became an exception and got lucky. During the second round of the NFL Draft this past spring, the Philadelphia Eagles selected running back, Miles Sanders. Then, the following day, they made a call for defensive end Shareef Miller in the fourth round.
Now, they are both a part of the Eagles. However, just because they are no longer at Penn State, doesn’t mean they aren’t repping Penn State to the fullest. This past weekend, they still had involvement with Penn State’s rivalry matchup with Pitt.
Since they have a former enemy within their locker room in Philly, Miller and Sanders decided to make a little friendly wager with Eagles’ 2018 Draft Pick, Avonte Maddox. For those who don’t know, Maddox was a cornerback for the Panthers before getting drafted to the Eagles.
The bet was simple; if the Panthers win, then Sanders and Miller will have to wear a Pittsburgh Panther shirt to rep the winners of the 100th matchup. If Penn State wins, then Maddox has to show up to practice on Tuesday in a Penn State shirt.
You know the results…
As we know, the Nittany Lions inched out the win on Saturday with a score of 17-10. So Maddox honored the bet. The former Pitt Panther star showed up to the Philadelphia Eagles practice facility rocking a fresh long-sleeved Penn State Nittany Lions shirt.
According to NJ Advanced Media’s Zack Rosenblatt, Maddox was not too happy with the situation. Being that he has a history within the rivalry along with Sanders and Miller, Saturday’s meeting was just as important to him. His team couldn’t help him out, though.
