Penn State football landed a commitment from three-star defensive end Zuriah Fisher on Monday.

Back in August, Aliquippa, Pennsylvania prospect Zuriah Fisher was getting ready to make his college decision. As his senior season at Aliquippa High School was approaching, it would’ve been an ideal scenario to get the commitment out of the way, so it didn’t become a distraction.

Well, Fisher realized he wasn’t ready quite yet. At the time, he felt overwhelmed. With plans of announcing the decision on August fifth, Fisher jumped the gun and made an announcement on the eve of his choice. Instead of picking his next year’s destination though — he postponed the entire occasion.

“Due to the process being a bit overwhelming for me,” Fisher wrote in a statement on his personal Twitter account. “I’ll be pushing my commitment date back thank you, everybody, god, bless.” After that, everybody shifted focus elsewhere in order to give Fisher his space and time to make his final decision in peace.

In order to avoid feeling rushed, Fisher decided not to leave anticipation for his official announcement this time. Rather than telling the world when his decision is coming and making an event out of it, he decided just to offer up his word randomly when he finally decided he was ready. This week, the young man was ready.

Fisher decides on the Nittany Lions

Zuriah Fisher was in attendance for the Penn State Nittany Lions’ throwdown with the Pitt Panthers at Beaver Stadium. As one of their honored guests, Fisher got to experience an incredibly hostile atmosphere for the visitors. Plus, he got to see an intense rivalry matchup go down to the wire before Penn State picked up the victory to remain undefeated.

Following Saturday’s matchup, a few recruiting analysts speculated that since Fisher’s trip was a success, it seemed like it was only a matter of time before he picked Penn State. Well, that’s exactly what happened, and it occurred rather quickly.

Now, Penn State football picks up their 25th prospect on the quest for 30 in the three-star defensive end. The six-foot-three-inch, 240-pound edge rusher will join the squad by way of the 2020 recruiting class.
