Penn State Football: Grading the Nittany Lions’ performance vs. Pitt

B. . . . COACHING

It’s a good thing we’re discussing Penn State’s coaching and not Pitt’s coaching. There’s no doubt that the Nittany Lions’ caught a break from Pat Narduzzi’s mistake to not go for it on 4th and one at the one yard line.

In terms of the Penn State coaching, I definitely think the Nittany Lions got a little too conservative trying to close out that game. However, they barely executed on offense the entire day, so it’s hard to criticize conservative play calling.

There aren’t any other issues I have with the coaching staff in this game. This was very much more of a case of the players not executing the game plan, and not a coaching issue.
